Tena korua Sumita and Trudi

A HUGE thanks for the copies of the magazine which were an exciting discovery in the letterbox (and a welcome change from the more common and much less welcome small window variety!).

It’s a wonderful publication we can’t wait to share with all our supporters and networks and is a credit to you both for all the hard work compiling everything.

We are planning a graduation ceremony for our ‘Canine Comrades’ team at Government House next year, so if you have one more spare copy we can share on the day, that would be very much appreciated.

I have already scanned our pages and will email them through to our Patron next week.

Many thanks again for so kindly including our charity in this wonderful publication. We hope it will reach all those in need of our support who are not yet aware of our presence in the community and are indebted to you for assisting us to inform all potential beneficiaries of our services of our existence – very much appreciated.

Wanganui Area Neighbourhood Support would like to say thank you very much for our 2017 issue of ‘Eye on Communities’, Wanganui book. The book is very well laid out, fantastic photos and articles. Thanks very much to the kind sponsors who supported the book and have advertised in the issue.

The 2015 edition of Eye on Communities West Coast is now available free from various locations throughout the West Coast. These booklets are an initiative of the Neighbourhood Support New Zealand Organisation.

Thanks to Markat Promotions Ltd, the producer of these booklets for a very generous $1,000 donation to Buller Civil Defence. We are excited to be able to purchase some much needed equipment to help us be better prepared for emergency situations!

Just a few words to say how much I appreciated the Builder and Contractor magazine and the great job you did on the Crane Association article.

I found the magazine explored the many variations of New Zealand’s construction industry with insightful articles and i look forward to the next edition.

“I recently advertised in the Builders and Contractors Winter Edition 2013. This was the first advertisement I have placed in 20 years of trading. I’ve been extremely happy with the response I’ve received. This resulted in acquiring a very large project with ongoing work.”

“What a joy to find a gift from Markat. The gift of the Desktop Pad to the Principal was so appreciated. The layout was sensible with the 2013 calendar visible, a week overview available, a ‘to do’ list on the right-hand side and the sponsors appropriate to Rotorua, our hometown, surrounding the pad. Great job team! Well done.”

“A big ‘Thank You’ for the new ‘Survival Guide’ for Timaru. It’s the best one yet and done in time for us to hand them out during the ShakeOut drill on the 26th September. Awesome work and many thanks for bringing it all together for me. Our volunteers love the new version and I’m looking forward to getting them out there in the community.”

“Phil (of Markat) and I have been working together to get the Eye on Communities magazine ready for publishing and distribution. This letter is to express my delight at our first joint project publishing the Eye on Communities magazine. I have found Phil to be very easy to work with…nothing is a problem. I am impressed with the layout and colour and the way we worked together in the pre-printing phase of the publication. I look forward to continuing the relationship between Markat and Neighbourhood Support Canterbury.”

“On behalf of the Horowhenua Neighbourhood Support Committee, I would like to commend Markat on the excellent presentation and content of the Neighbourhood Support (2012 edition) booklet. Phil and his team were a pleasure to work with and made contact with the appropriate advertisers and contributors with an absolute minimum of fuss for us. Particularly impressive were their initiatives in building a relationship with potential advertisers, which in some cases have resulted in donations to our organisation. We would like to recommend the services of Markat Promotions to any organisation requiring similar publicity material.”

“I am writing on behalf of my Management Team to thank you for all the great work that you have done on our behalf in producing the Neighbourhood Support booklet for Palmerston North, Manawatu and Horowhenua. The booklet will enable us to significantly lift the profile of our respective organisations in our Communities…I am sure that the advertisers that have supported your endeavours will be proud to be a part of a project that promotes the work that Police and Civil Defence carry out in our respective communities. Thanks once again!”

“For some time we have been in receipt of the Neighbourhood Support publications produced by Markat from other areas such as Canterbury and wondered how we, as a smaller area with a limited advertising catchment, could have such a magazine produced. Late last year contact was made with Markat Promotions to see whether a magazine could be produced encompassing our three locations. Throughout our dealings with Markat, they were professional and made our role as stress free as possible. We are very happy with the final product and the booklet is something that we are proud to have. Not only does it reflect our organisations in a positive light but also shows the support of the territorial authorities and a number of agencies that we work in partnership with and/or alongside of.”

“Markat first became known to Wellington Regional Council and the Wellington Region Civil Defence Emergency Management Group five years ago through the production of the ‘ARE YOU PREPARED’ booklet. These booklets, and also the wall planners and desk pads, are very popular with our communities. The services provided by Markat over the years have been outstanding and carried out meticulously. It has been a great resource for our Councils in the Group to help get our awareness and preparedness messages to our communities. Markat Promotions are hard working and always willing to go that extra mile for its customers. They constantly exhibit courtesy, dedication, a positive attitude and integrity.”

Christchurch Eye on community booklet publisher Phil Cowan, left, donates $3500 to Blenheim Blue Light Venture Trust members Senior Constable Russ Smith, centre, Senior Constable Dean Buckley, second from right, and trust treasurer Andrea Cunliffe.
Blenheim’s Blue Light Venture Trust is $3500 better off after a generous donation from the Christchurch publisher of a crime prevention booklet.

Eye on Communities publisher Phil Cowan, of Markat, handed over the cheque to Blue Light Venture Trust member Senior Constable Russ Smith.

The funds were made possible by advertising revenue generated from the crime prevention booklet which is distributed nationwide, Cowan said.

The money will be used to help various Blue Light Venture activities planned this year for youth in Blenheim.

Five thousand copies of the 50-page booklet are available through Neighbourhood Support groups to the Blenheim community. The booklet is designed to help people in need find support organisations in the community.

“There are thousands of ways people’s lives can become disrupted, either through poor health, natural disasters or being victims of crime,” said Cowan.

“The booklet provides useful tips from various support organisations, including Women’s Refuge, Citizens Advice or Neighbourhood Support groups.”

Smith said the generous funding was welcomed by the group.

“It is difficult at the best of times to find funding and this cheque will enable some surety for us that the trust can go ahead and organise a number of activities for youth in Blenheim this year.”

Blue Light Venture organise activities such as under-age “rages” and camps designed to develop social and leadership skills for youth.

The booklet will be put in a ‘goodies’ bag and given to all secondary school students during Youth Week to be held between May 23-31.
